Not every perfect picture has to be perfect …

I have recently been inspired by a friend of mine who shared a link to a celebrity wedding photographer, Joe Buissink

His photographs are not always technically perfect, but they capture the essence of the people being photographed, and I’ve been editing my most recent pictures with him in mind and remembering that whilst it might not be technically perfect, it might be slightly out of focus, it might be over or underexposed… it can still be a beautiful picture and that capturing the right moment or the right look can mean more than a technically perfect image.

Here are two to share so you can see what I mean.

Both of these are out of focus and in the past I would have written them off and discarded them, but the ethereal smile in the first and the shared joy in the second make them both well worth saving, in my opinion.

Edit : I keep coming back to this first picture and thinking how incredible it would look on a canvas…. I adore it and it’s one of my favourites from the session I think!

So, this morning I had the honour of photographing two families and their three incredibly beautiful little girls.

Oh, and I have to share this before and after for you….

You have no idea how long this took, but I love how it came out!!! I mean, you can’t have three little girls standing unsupported on a tree, can you? Worth the work, most definitely.

A very quick shoot yesterday resulted in a couple of lovely shots, I think! You wouldn’t believe the little guy is only six weeks old, he’s so alert and focused and strong! I swear he wanted to sit up! Beautiful kids….

Storyboards ~ A different way to showcase your Photographs

I just wanted to share some storyboards I’ve put together from the recent family session.

There are many ways to showcase your Photographs and this gives you the option to choose many of your images and display them as one. Storyboards are essentially one big print that you frame and display. And without further ado, here you go!

Well, two actually! I’ve finally finished editing all the images from both sessions I had last week and I have two more that I want to share because I simply adore them.

Oh, and I promise I’ll get my galleries completed by the end of next week! I’ve just been so busy lately I’ve not had the time! Sorry!!! I WILL finish the site… I will!!!
